Energy
Energy sustainability and alternative power are growing concerns all around the world. Marin County has taken many steps to identify and implement energy conservation. The Marin County Department of Public Works has installed numerous photovoltaic cells, replaced thousands of light fixtures, and installed energy-saving motors at county facilities including the Civic Center, the County Garage, 120 N. Redwood Drive, San Rafael, and at the San Rafael Health and Wellness Campus. These projects foster innovation that can benefit residents by encouraging local contractors and suppliers to provide alternative energy systems for residential and commercial use. Click here to see some real-world results of completed County projects and their favorable impact on the environment.
Marin County residents are encouraged to learn more about the rebate programs available from the Marin County Community Development Agency, PG&E, and the Marin Municipal Water District through appliance upgrades, energy generation systems, and other energy-reducing measures.
