Reuse, Recycling, and Resource Management
The Marin County Department of Public Works in partnership with the Marin County Hazardous and Solid Waste Management Joint Powers authority have instituted a number of programs to make it easier for residents to handle their unwanted belongings in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
Reducing the amount of products you buy, reusing materials, recycling, and properly disposing of hazardous wastes are great ways to reduce your carbon footprint, prevent pollution and minimize the stream of waste into landfills. Additionally, buying locally produced materials and/or products with recycled content and supporting manufacturers that take responsibility for the wastes they produce helps close the loop, change our marketplace and lessen our global impact.
