Transportation
Transportation has a major impact on the daily lives of Marin County residents. Roadway congestion is a nuisance that creates air, water, and noise pollution. Investing in green travel choices now will provide long-term environmental and health benefits for our community. The County of Marin is attempting to relieve congestion on Highway 101 and surrounding roadways by promoting cycling, walking, Marin County Transit, and the Golden Gate bus and ferry systems. Your use of public and non-motorized transportation protects the environment, saves resources and ultimately saves you money and time on the road. Non-motorized transportation is also a great way to integrate healthy exercise and beneficial behavior into your daily commute. It is estimated that the public transportation system in the United States saves 3.4 billion gallons of oil a year and cuts greenhouse gas emissions by 26 million tons? Please do your part whenever possible.
